Stefan and Katy Hiatt, owners of Plantivity, have a diverse and unique combined experience in the green industry. Stefan has significant experience in the green industry, in which he has developed many longstanding relationships with growers, landscape contractors and re-wholesale nurseries. Katy is a licensed Landscape Architect in the state of Colorado and has over a decade of experience in both commercial and residential design along with many years of wholesale and retail nursery experience.

We are plant logistics masters. We find and distribute the best trees, shrubs and perennials grown in the US and Canada. We are rooted in the success of our customers and our growers. We would love to help you and your staff find the best plants for your re-wholesale nursery, garden center, landscape contracting jobs, or municipality. We also provide high quality liners to growers and can contract grow plants and trees for future jobs. We assist landscape architects in plant selection and substitutions. Our goals are to develop quality relationships with our customers, growers and carriers; provide high quality plant material at competitive prices; take care of all of the logistics for our customers and growers; and begin the process of linking the gap between the design field and the nursery and growing industries.

Our Team

While studying landscape architecture, Stefan was introduced to the horticultural side of the industry; he quickly fell in love with plant diversity. In his early 20s Stefan joined a re-wholesale nursery and immersed himself in every aspect of the nursery business.

His experience with several Colorado nurseries allowed him to build new logistics systems, create improved sale tactics and to organize practices to reduce labor costs.

In 2011, he started Plantivity. The business has thrived due to Stefan and Katy’s philosophy of being “rooted in your success.” Stefan oversees every aspect of the nursery brokerage by meeting with growers to understand their changing market and using technology to bring innovation and foresight to the industry. He never forgets the personal touch and is out personally tagging trees and sending photos to his customers to ensure good quality control.

When not at work, Stefan can be found on Colorado’s bike trails and ski slopes with his family.

Katy Hiatt is the President of Plantivity and a licensed Landscape Architect in the state of Colorado. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida, and has studied landscape architecture in Italy, France and Spain.

Katy’s experience is broad and diverse, she has successfully produced large scale commercial design and high-end residential design, she has designed therapeutic gardens, including infusion gardens and gardens for autistic children, she has a deep understanding of all aspects of horticulture – specifically the growing of trees and shrubs. Her goal is to enrich the lives of others by connecting people, places and nature.

Maureen Westmiller is the Office Manager at Plantivity. She handles a variety of tasks, which mainly include payables, reconciliations, excel spreadsheets, and research.

Maureen’s Accounting education started at Tacoma Community College, then transferred to New Mexico University in Albuquerque.

Maureen’s background has mostly been in the Healthcare Reimbursement field (over 20+ years). While in the Healthcare Reimbursement area, Maureen successfully supervised or managed over 30 employees and helped collect over 100 million in past due receivables. Maureen’s nickname was…“Mighty Moe” for not only her always moving fast everywhere she went, but because she never stopped until the job was completed and conquered!

Maureen loves helping and working with people and especially enjoys her new line of work at Plantivity! What a difference and “breath of fresh air” from the Healthcare world!

Jan Dégallier is the Chief Financial Officer for Plantivity.

Jan’s passion for helping businesses maximize their success has been a key element in the roles that she has served throughout her 30-year career in finance and accounting.

After obtaining her accounting degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, as a CPA she spent the first segment of her career as an auditor in public accounting, guiding and analyzing business results as she served a variety of clients in multiple industries.

Later, as Jan transitioned into corporate finance roles performing controller and treasury activities, she enjoyed the challenge of leading teams to shape and execute multinational growth strategies.

In addition, it is Jan’s heart for people that combines another passion – adding value through positive leadership and influence. It is her goal to share resources that enhance her financial expertise while also including a focus on Plantivity’s most valuable assets, which are our people – employees, customers, and suppliers.

Jan lives in southeastern Minnesota with her husband David. After raising their four children they are now enjoying their next stage in life as they fulfill life’s passions and purpose.

Colbi is the of Procurement, Logistics and Sales Coordinator at Plantivity.

Although Colbi is new to the industry professionally, she grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, where her family ran a Christmas tree farm for her friends and family. Helping her family was one of Colbi’s favorite memories and contributed to her love for nature and the outdoors today.

She began her education at Connecticut College, where she majored in Economics and double minored in Environmental Science and Sociology. As a college athlete alongside her identical twin, she developed a passion for creating a strong team environment. Colbi’s career started in revenue management for a large hospitality company, where she discovered her love for customer service. She assisted in managing revenue for eight hotel properties across two mountain towns and became the go-to room expert in many of them. Colbi has worked at both small startups and large corporations, giving her a unique insight into both.

She is super excited to work with a passionate, supportive, and fun team at Plantivity!
